So the Oscars have shown us black on black crime 

A shining example of Hollywood mime 

Oh,  and with the liberals who were cheering online  

What does the academy do? 

Silence 

No rejections 

No rebuke   

Will Smith earned an Oscar and received a standing ovation 

Was it for his talent and acting innovation?  

Or was it for defending his woman 

From the poor joke with which Chris Rock began  

One has also to question whether or not this was a preplanned academy scam 

Since over the years viewers have panned  

This self congratulatory idolatry 

Of Hollywood’s industry  

Academy humor now needs a checklist to pass 

Will the words create a woke, gender id, pronoun, or cancel culture clash? 

We just want to prevent misunderstandings is what they’ll insist 

But isn’t it a case of thought police group thinking the script?

If the language gets twisted 

They fear attendees may get pissed…   

The examples you set for YOUR children and others is atrocious 

Violence does not resolve differences and makes grown men look precocious

God Bless Chris Rock who kept his cool…he’s a comedian and a gentleman too 

For not escalating the brouhaha and making it a bigger issue  

After all it is humor for goodness sake…albeit in very, very bad taste 

But equally wrong was the response, a sad, bad black waste  

Perhaps the academy should consider some updates 

Woke culture needs categories with which they can relate 

Retire the terminology of actor and actress  

Use a modern new name…say something like Best Snowflake     

After all Snowflake is a gender neutral term 

Perhaps the beginning of the academy’s new berm  

Next…have a single award for who is the best 

Yes, it’s a solution is born out of fairness… 

No separation of genders…just let all compete 

One giant category of humanity replete  

With great talent on a level playing field Hollywood folks might discover what is truly real  

And at the end, 

Everyone gets a trophy like the left pushes our learning institutions to do 

We really don’t want to hurt anyones' feelings even those out of school

You cannot have free speech by crushing all dissent

“Question authority” and had support from the Left

The media has always been the medium bringing a message 

Sometimes fair and balanced, other times biased and insensitive

Balancing readership, viewers, and ratings

There are those who shut down speech with which they disagree

In what they call a Kumbaya moment for the greater good, you see

Never mind, anarchy runs rampant and is fine

As long as it is initiated by leftists towing the company line

If you have conservative principles, say you’re a trucker

You will be vilified by leftist media, politicians, and blind followers

Groupthink runs rampant in many cities today

Look at the mayors and school boards who often replay

The Governors’ and health boards' ridiculous mandates galore

While they flout and ignore what they expect of the poor

Public left to navigate this bs

Leadership has failed their test

Let the homeless run rampant…we’re told it’s society’s fault

We owe them free housing and no rules while they are down and out

Free drugs, free needles, free homes, free tuition…where does this stop?

You just can’t print money believe it or not

We want our freedom…not rules for thee and not for me

Which is all too common with leftist politicians in today’s society

I want my tax money to go to the Police

I want them to defend and I trust them to keep the peace

Arrest the bad guys and don’t go easy

Modifying laws has given governing officials’ a sleazy way 

Of allowing criminals to thrive

Having no fear of government reprise

And judgements delayed 

Often get cases thrown away

Why does the media cheer 

For rioting, protests, and destruction dear

By taking sides…they are no longer impartial…

That’s fine, but offer an op-ed not an article

Purporting objectivity that honestly 

Relies on very little perspicacity 

These are the same people who agonize over using the right meme

Believe me I won’t lose sleep over this so-called outrage my friends

Progressive leftists only desire more power over our lives

They have not made our existence better or enabled us to thrive

Cancel culture mores are merely symptomatic

So Bernie and his socialist progressives will continue to thrive

Removing bail and felony offenses that used to require jail now on display

How can you right past wrongs by letting out smash and grab thugs

Worse yet some aggravated assaulters not wearing boxing gloves 

Shooting police, killing retail clerks, 

And throwing some on the subway tracks and other things worse

If you disagree with the woke about law enforcement or COVID ID

Then you, my friend,  are automatically labeled a racist, see?

America is a country giving people liberty to agree or disagree 

Without being censored or brainwashed by media re-education camps for free!

The woke find that “triggers” and blaming are easy 

Needing safe spaces when micro aggressions make them feel queasy

They just can’t grow up and move ahead

Learning to deal with real life instead

They are blaming a societal culture with whom they disagree 

It makes no sense if you ask me 

Judgment on the past, trying to “right” it today 

Or just correct it, calling it justice delayed

Present day society shouldn’t suffer for the past’s inequities 

But use it to  avoid repeating historical ubiquities

No penance for history should be paid  

For the unknown faults or “judgments” made 

Woke whiners advocate removing statues they say offend

Did they dream this up to get on some tiktoking trend?

Why woke folks feel they can change the past 

Do they really think these cosmetic changes will last?

The reasoning for making prominent monuments disappear

Is really not terribly clear

These statues remind us where our nation came from…

They don’t define us as some

Would have the mass population believe

Our school system is using CRT and 1619 history 

Both are full of just as much falsity 

As their authors purport to find

Take government officials at our public schools

Pondering why parents want input on their children’s learning…who knew?

I thought Schools are there to educate

Not become parental surrogates

Teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic… not woke pronouns, 1619, or CRT…
